Rules Of The Road
Welcome to Toyota and our Open Road Blog. Our objective with this blog is two-fold. First, we want to give readers the opportunity to see a little more of Toyota than might be available on our website or via other online sources.
How do we do that? Quite simply by establishing this website and allowing our own associates and management-turned-bloggers to post subject matter that we hope will be of interest to those in the Toyota community and within the blogosphere itself.
Our other goal is to step-up our efforts to listen to you. We currently participate in several online enthusiast forums that tend to cater to owners of Toyota products (Toyota, Scion and Lexus). You may have seen us on the web as “TMS USA". That activity has proven to be very rewarding, we think, for participants as well as us. The various discussion groups that we monitor and in which we engage with members have supplied a wealth of valuable information—Important stuff upon which we have acted. We’ve also heard from hundreds of readers of these forums that our presence and our “talk” is much appreciated, even reassuring.
Now we have a communications vehicle via the Toyota Open Road Blog that will allow us to hear from a broader range of the public at large—including customers, other bloggers, journalists, automotive enthusiasts, consumers and even the “competition". We’ll do that by creating an open but moderated forum via the comment section of our blog. And we encourage you to speak-up, tell us what’s on your mind, and say whether you agree or disagree with any of our posts.
We promise to be transparent; if there’s a problem that would otherwise not be the likely candidate to address on our website, we’ll talk about it openly right here. We ask that you do the same in your discussions with us and remember that the comments you post—while often directed to us—are seen by potentially thousands of people across the World Wide Web. As Toyota moves forward and navigates the open road, we want to do it with you via this blog. And so that we may enjoy the best journey possible, we’d like to offer some guidelines, or “Rules of the Road,” as we’re apt to call them. We promise to not engage in the following and we ask for the sake of all readers that you join us in the same restraint:
One more important rule. While we have worked diligently over the past several years to strengthen the Toyota enterprise toward the goals of ensuring a customer experience that rivals the quality of our products, including establishing a world class customer contact center at our headquarters in Torrance, California, the Toyota Open Road Blog is not the channel to communicate issues, complaints or suggestions about individual sales and service experiences or our cars and trucks. Comments that fall into this category will not be posted.
These types of concerns are best handled by our Customer Experience Center where they will be routed to the appropriate customer service representative for Toyota, Scion or Lexus. You can reach our customer service represenatives by calling 800-331-4331. Prefer to email or chat? Simply access our website email or live chat links for Toyota, Scion or Lexus.
Finally, while we hope you enjoy reading and participating in our blog, if you've landed here in error and were hoping to access our brand corporate websites, just click on Toyota.com, Scion.com and Lexus.com for easy redirects to these sites.
Thanks for visiting...and enjoy the Open Road.
